AMNESTY IN NIGERIA

         Amnesty as the name implies, simply means the official pardon of an offence committed by an individual or groups of people in a community or state. Amnesty can be granted to a culprit, meaning that the particular person or groups of people granted amnesty will not be punish for their offence. Amnesty can be granted to a person who committed an offence, if the person is ready to repent. In political arena, we called a power granted to Mr. President to pardon his/her citizen of any offence(s) he/she committed a “prerogative of mercy” meaning that amnesty and prerogative of mercy can mean the same in some perspectives.
       Niger/Delta crisis in Nigeria can not be agreed to be a mere crisis, this is a crisis that almost results to another civil war in Nigeria. We can recall that civil war broke out in Nigeria in 1966 because of the massive killing of easterners, known as Ibos (Igbo) by Northerners (Hausas) in Kano. although there are many issues that leads to 1966 civil war in Nigeria between easterners and northerners, both immediate and remote cause, but the massive killing of easterners in kano gingered the war. in 2001, we can recalled that Odi, a community in Bayelsa state in Niger/Delta community, was set ablaze by the then so called President Obasanjo Regime. Now it is turn of the regime of president Yaradua to set the whole communities in Delta ablaze. Mr. President has started with agbaramatu community in Delta State. Over thirty-five thousand casualties have been recorded in a single community. President Yaradua had forgotten that we are not in autocratic state but in a democratic state. Were in 1999 constitution can we trace the dehumanizing and disastrous decision made by president Yaradua to wipe away a groups of civilian in Agbaramatu community by so called Joint Task Force (JTF), claiming that they are searching for militants in Delta State. Mr. President preaches rule of law everyday on air. The questions are how can the followers follow the right way while their leader is not on the right way¬? What plans does federal government have for the affected families in Agbaramatu crisis? Is there any hope for the community? If those militants abide with the spirit of embracing the so called Mr. president Amnesty, what will happen next to their community? What do you have for the affected market woman and peasant farmers in that community? What happen in Agbamaratu community was totally breach of laws and orders in that community by Mr. President and the JTF. If Nigeria has solid and independent law makers and Judiciary, this is the right time for them to follow the right path, and dictate what the constitution states to Mr. President and his JTF.

WHY Mrs.CLINTON VISIT TO NIGERIA?

               Mrs. Clinton visit to Nigeria had leads to a very serious problem to some of the banks Chief Executive Officers in Nigerian banking sector. Nigeria has many of deceiving people. If Nigerian are given a chance to rule the world, I must tell you openly that Nigeria will rule perfectly, because they have many strategies of deceiving and diverting attention of people from the right thing and let them think that thing are getting better. President Barrack Obama of United State came to African on an official visit to the continent, but president Obama refused to visit Nigeria, the giant of African. This decision by the president of the United State have turn to national issues, because Nigerian believe that it was a very rude and lack of interest in Nigeria government by the present United State Government that leads to such apolitical decision made by president Obama. Nigerian government and political analyst are not happy about the decision made by president Obama to skip Nigeria on his visit to African.

          Why did President Obama refuse to visit Nigeria at first? It was obvious to everybody that Nigerian was among the most corrupt country in African. Nigerian President was not happy about President Obamas decision. The most interesting part of it was that president Obama visited Ghana, a neighboring country to Nigeria. Although, Nigeria and Ghana shares many things in common, but politically and economically, Ghana has succeeded in gapping Nigeria. Nigeria and Ghana are the most popular country in West Africa.

         Why Mrs. Clinton visit to Nigeria? Mrs. Clinton, the United state secretary to Mr. president, came to Nigeria to sort out some political differences and corruption issues in Nigeria. But Nigerians have many ways of sorting themselves out in any condition that they fall in to. BBC is now a means of passing across the latest corruption crusade in Nigeria. Everyday BBC publishes news concerning Nigerian fighting corruption. You can hardly read news on BBC site without coming across issues about the former bank CEOs sacked and facing financial crime case in court. Which country in the world, even the United State of America, can divert the attention of the whole world from the negative thought they have about their nation to something nice and encouraging like what Nigerian is displaying to world. Nigerian Central Bank President has no idea about the mismanagement of fund by those banks before the visit of Mrs. Clinton. Nigerian is perfect when it comes to playing tricks. Many countries of the world including the United State government are acknowledging Nigerian government for their achievement in fighting crime in their society not knowing to them that Nigerian government are just trying to divert their attention to something else, instead of talking about poor power supply, poor social amenities, poor academic calendar, embezzlement of national funds and so on everyday on air.

         This formula has been in existence from last regime. Obasanjo regime used this pattern to flush out his enemy from power. People believe that president Obasanjo was trying to avert corrupt practices in Nigerian, not knowing to them that president Obasanjo was using the so called anti corruption organization to fight and remove his enemy from power. Though, the former inspector general of police, Tafa balogun, was found guilty of embezzling public funds, but if he was in good relationship with Mr. president, he would have not been victimize by president Obasanjo anti corruption organization.        President Yaradua has now embarked on the formula by setting some of the banks CEOs off and using them to attain international honor to his regime. We have to face the truth. The removal of bank CEOs in Nigerian banking sector and claiming that they owe Central Bank of Nigeria is not normal and constitutional. There are many ways to fight this war of corrupt practice in Nigeria, than blackmailing. Mrs. Clinton, in her words states that "Nigerians can solve Nigerian problems.  Mr. president , do the right thing for better Nigeria.
